On the easel

Here we can see one of Maggie's paintings taking shape, as it is looking on the easel. Paintings shown here may or may not be available to buy, or to purchase as a limited edition print.
Tiger Painting -
I am currently back painting in my studio in Surrey, so I am using this as a chance
to go back to my usual, larger size. I decided that I wanted to paint something with
show-
Unusually for me, I decided to start working on the background at an early stage in the painting. Here you can see the basic colours I shall work with, although later on I shall refine and smoothen the transition between colours. I want to use the background as a chance to put energy into the piece, so will keep a certain amount of brushmarks in it.
I have now built up the eye with several layers of paint. You can also see I have reconstructed the chin. Previously, I was going to have the mouth open with part of the tongue showing, however I decided against this, therefore pulling the jaw forward and shut. I have also put a layer of detail over most of the face.

Finished!
