This is a painting of the family pet, Mr. Chips. I'd been wanting to paint him for some time, and finally had a chance to take a bit of a break create this. Mr Chips has a strong personality, and he is very good at grabbing attention! This is what I hoped to convey in this portrait of him. I did this through the use of a large scale, and by using strong colours to try and throw the painting out, making him quite literally larger than life!
