Drawing out the design and getting the first layer of coat on. I’m currently concentrating on getting the lights and darks right and not worrying too much about colour accuracy.
I have now put a first layer of paint on. Although the detail and colour is not quite there, this gives me a good template to work with.
I’ve drafted out the rough colour scheme I would like for the background, and put a layer of paint over the whole of the elephant. I have now started to add some finer detail in more accurate colouring up the trunk and the eye on the right.
I’ve now started to put in the intense contrasts and shadows. I’ve also started putting some stronger colours, that will be linked into the background later on.
